An Employer in Houston is looking to fill a full-time position to support our long-term Aviation projects in Houston, Texas. Your primary role will support the Houston SWA Gate expansion. The work has already begun and they are currently in a phase working on canopy steel erection at night. This is a long term project that goes through 2027.
You will be performing safety observations, audits and reporting. In this position you will act as the primary contact for the General Contractor's Manager of Safety. You will work on new terminal building at Hobby International Airport on expansion project. This is not a regulatory sit in the office position. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to
Conduct daily field safety audits and observations during active construction phases, including night work like canopy steel erection.
Serve as the primary safety liaison with the General Contractors Safety Manager on-site.
Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA standards, including timely incident reporting and completion of OSHA forms.
Review construction plans and documents to identify potential safety risks and advise on mitigation strategies.
Observe and evaluate subcontractor and trade activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Support ongoing safety initiatives for large-scale capital projects such as airport terminal expansions. Conduct daily field safety audits and observations during active construction phases, including night work like canopy steel erection.
Serve as the primary safety liaison with the General Contractors Safety Manager on-site.
Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA standards, including timely incident reporting and completion of OSHA forms.
Review construction plans and documents to identify potential safety risks and advise on mitigation strategies.
Experience working on mid to large capital projects ($100 mil and up) is a plus.
Degree in Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Safety Management or Construction Science or Construction Management
Graduate Safety Professional or Certified Safety Practitioner, Scaffolding Cert
Familiar with reading plans, Excel, Word, Adobe and will advise on anything special
Proven experience in related work like: Mid-to-large capital construction projects experience - commercial like high rises, hospitals, airports, office buildings
OSHA reporting, Conducting field audits, Observing construction subcontractors and trades on site, timely submittal of reports, ability to report incidents and complete required OSHA forms
