Public Company - VP of Finance - Path to CFO

GJL Partners has been retained on a fantastic VP of Finance search with a publicly traded company. This role will require our incumbent to be prepared to take the CFO role ideally within a year. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a NYSE CFO and help a company capitalize on a market with very little competitors.

Key Responsibilities :

• Financial Strategy & Planning : Work closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to shape and execute the companys financial strategy and business plans.
• Accounting & Finance : Oversee all financial activities including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis. Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
• Public Company Reporting : Manage the preparation and filing of financial statements, earnings reports, and other filings with the SEC, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with GAAP.
• Audit & Compliance : Ensure strong internal controls and oversee the audit process, working with external auditors to ensure that financial statements comply with public company standards.
• Mergers & Acquisitions : Provide financial insight and leadership in potential M&A opportunities, due diligence, and integration.
• Risk Management : Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing strategies to protect the companys financial health.
• Investor Relations : Collaborate with investor relations teams to provide clear and concise financial communication to shareholders and the board.
• Leadership : Lead and develop a finance team of four direct reports, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous development.

Qualifications :

• A Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA is a plus).
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a leadership position at a publicly traded company.
• Strong background in public accounting with hands-on experience auditing public companies.
• Experience in one or more of the following industries: SaaS, manufacturing, or private equity.
• In-depth knowledge of both accounting and finance functions, with a strong ability to manage financial reporting and compliance in a public company environment.
• Proven experience in SEC filings, audit processes, and corporate governance.
• Excellent strategic thinking, leadership, and team management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with executive leadership and present financial data to the board and investors.

Compensation :

• Base Salary : Up to $200,000 annually, based on experience.
• Discretionary Bonus : Competitive, based on company and individual performance.
• Equity Package : Attractive stock option plan
