Financial Analyst | Walker, MI

Salary Range: $67,000 - $101,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed variance analysis of manufacturing costs (e.g., direct materials, labor, overhead) against budget and prior periods.
• Develop and maintain financial models for production costs, inventory valuation, and operational efficiency.
• Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes specifically for production and COGS.
• Analyze capital expenditure requests, performing ROI and payback period calculations for new equipment or facility upgrades.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) for manufacturing operations.
• Monitor inventory levels, analyze obsolescence risks, and contribute to inventory valuation accuracy.
• Collaborate with operations teams to identify cost reduction opportunities and process improvements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and their application in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis for production costs and operational expenses.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for financial reporting, inventory management, and production data.
• Ability to analyze complex operational and financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks specific to manufacturing.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain dynamics, and their impact on financial performance.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with a major manufacturing ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor).
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Familiarity with supply chain finance concepts and inventory valuation methods.
