Job Description

As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in accurately estimating costs and ensuring the success and profitability of our clients' projects. You're responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for thermal and moisture protection scopes, including roofing, waterproofing, insulation, fireproofing, and building envelope systems. This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine material, labor, and equipment costs, and working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers. Your expertise in quantity takeoffs, cost estimation, vendor coordination, and meticulous documentation will contribute to the overall efficiency and excellence of our projects.

This role could have the potential to oversee another Quantity Surveyor. **Responsibilities:**

* Review construction project plans, specifications, and related documents to gain a thorough understanding of the scope of work. 
* Conduct accurate material quantity takeoffs from the project documents.
* Utilize the takeoff quantities to prepare cost estimates.
* Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes, pricing information, and lead times.
* Prepare detailed takeoff reports, cost estimates, and other relevant documentation.
* Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements, resolve any discrepancies or issues, and ensure accurate understanding of scope. 
* To know and use the PCA and SSPC standards as a basis of your measurements and take-off approaches. 
* To carry out the Company Purpose, Core Values, policies, and philosophy, integrating these into your work approach, thinking and behavior in all work that is completed. 
* To attend and participate in all company-related functions, huddles, meetings (estimator weekly meetings, incentive meetings, Foremen meetings, billing meetings, etc.) insomuch as remote access allows, actively and constructively contributing as able.
* Provide a professional and business-like appearance & conduct in all company-related activities and events, carrying out responsibilities in an efficient and timely manner.

**Qualifications:**

* A minimum of 2 years of US experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry. 
* Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, materials, and methods..
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and related documents. 
* Experience with construction takeoff software tools, such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Procore Estimating, or similar applications.
* Proficiency in cost estimation techniques, including knowledge of material and labor costs, as well as an understanding of market trends. 
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve issues during the takeoff process.
* The industry is moving quickly – we want to embrace all the technology that will make us more efficient.
