  Job Description: Mobile App Engineer 

We are looking for a strong mobile app developer who welcomes both engineering and maintenance tasks. The primary focus will be to implement new user interfaces and features together with automated unit and integration tests. You will be working with our candid and collaborative team, where your knowledge and advice about application architecture and the newest mobile technologies will be highly appreciated. The code you write will need to be cleanly organized and of the highest quality. You’ll also help ensure solid application performance and an excellent user experience through the implementation and integration of modern engineering observability tools. 

Objectives of this role 

● Translate the company vision to take the form of a mobile application, through clean coding. 

● Design the next-gen models of apps with high-quality mobile and application development. 

● Manage the entire evolution process of the app, from ideation to execution, monitoring, & support. 

● Collaborate with backend engineers within the team to deliver the best solutions. 

● Developing new features, AB Tests and user interfaces from wireframe models. 

Your tasks 

● Perform periodic testing and improve the usability of the mobile app 

● Build the design interface as per product & business requirements 

● Provide on-call support for critical issues found in the production apps. This includes troubleshooting, resolving, and monitoring issues with iOS and Android app implementations 

● Provide well-architected technical solutions and recommendations that solve problems with the mobile app. 

● Collaborate often with UI/UX designer, product owner, and peer engineers to align on product requirements and acceptance criteria. .. 

● Writing clean, readable, and testable React Native code 

Required skills and qualifications 

● Extensive knowledge about mobile app development. This includes hands-on experience with the entire software development lifecycle for both Android and iOS apps. 

● Deep knowledge of Android and iOS. 

● Prior experience working as a mobile application developer, or in a similar job role 

● Proficiency with writing automated tests in JUnit, Jest etc. 

● Familiarity with APIs, including REST, and mobile libraries for networking. 

● Experience with profiling and debugging mobile applications 

● Familiarity with push notifications 

● Understanding mobile app design guidelines on each platform and being aware of their differences. 

● Understanding of OpenId login integrations. 

● Proficiency in TypeScript, React Native, Firebase, BitRise or any other CI/CD platform is a must. 

● Experience implementing observability via tools like Splunk, SignalFX, LaunchDarkly, etc 

● Experience implementing experimentation tools like LaunchDarkly 

Preferred skills and qualifications 

● A portfolio of all the previous mobile applications created and released 

● A problem-solving approach to working as a mobile app developer 

● Outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to multitask 

● Knowledge of Java other similar programming languages
