QUALIFICATIONS: - Position will require a hands-on working manager- Solid production management experience required- Experience managing people is as important as anything- Facilitate communication with management and employees- Experience coordinating/leading Precision Ag initiatives- Direct, coordinate and perform hands-on work activities, such as planting, chemical/fertilizer application, harvesting, record keeping, etc.- Soil analysis to determine type and quantity of fertilizer required for maximum production- Inspection of equipment to ensure proper function- Inspect fields to determine maturity dates of crops or to estimate potential crop damage- Enforce safety regulations and interpret policies- Make decisions, solve problems, analyze information, and evaluate results- Organizing, planning, and prioritizing work- Monitoring and controlling resources and management of material resources- Have and develop strategies and recommendations for individual farm assets- Implement projects and strategies with due diligence- Ensure all documentation is securely entered into the appropriate management information and electronic file systems- Partner with internal and external resources to ensure that all services and projects are timely delivered and completed effectively- Prioritize and delegate projects and oversee ongoing progress- Meet monthly and annual compliance and regulatory deadlines- Adhere to internal policies and procedures- Perform administrative duties as necessary JOB DESCRIPTION: Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Farm Production Manager for a 7,000-acre Kentucky farm. Manager will be responsible for all crop production, equipment operations and equipment maintenance related to the farm. Really prefer 6 years of management experience or have been in a Lead position on a larger-scale farming operation. This person will be responsible for equipment, fertilizers, chemicals and other related inputs. Person is responsible for implementing safety policies and practices according to company standards. The person in this position will provide input in budget formulation, employee evaluations, establishing production standards, and ensuring compliance with company policies. Manager will be responsible for maintaining proper company inventories. Candidates need to know precision equipment, and have strong crop production experience, planting through harvest. Prefer candidates who have been in a similar position or who have work for a larger scale crop farm in a lead capacity. Knowledge of modern row crop farming, including GPS is required. Manager needs to be a team player too when supervising crew and have the ability to motivate to get the best out of their team. Need to know routine maintenance and equipment repairs. Manager needs to be a good communicator and well organized. This is a progressive operation in a nice location. Good area for spouse to find employment.
