About the Job:

Dr's Fuhst-Wylie & Kahn, Family Dental Care is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our close-knit team. This position is slightly unique, see duties below:

Schedule:

• Monday: 8:30am-5:45pm (Assist Dr. Kahn).
• Wednesday: 7:45am-5:45pm (Sterilization Tech/Rover).
• Thursday: 8:30am- 5:45pm (Assist Dr. Kahn).
• Friday: 7:30am-5:15pm (Assist Dr. Fuhst-Wylie).
• Unpaid 1-hour lunch: Mon-Thu 1:00-2:00 PM, Fri 12:00-1:00 PM.

Requirements:

• Dependable, detail-oriented, and proactive.
• Good interpersonal and verbal skills.
• Team player who enjoys helping wherever needed.
• Calm and focused under pressure.
• Experience with computers and software like Dentrix and Dexis.
• Graduate of accredited dental assisting program or dental assisting experience required.
• X-ray certification required.
• CPR certification required.
• OSHA training required (can provide if needed).

Assistant Duties

• Escort patients to operatory and help patients feel comfortable.
• Set up operatories for procedures.
• Anticipate dentist's needs and perform expanded functions and other tasks as assigned by dentist.
• Begin treatment notes, review health history, take blood pressure.
• Keep operatory organized, stocked, clean and ready.
• Adhere to all OSHA regulations for sterilization and disinfection of instruments and handpieces.
• Maintain lab case management system.

Clinical Rover Duties :

• Assist Hygienists and Doctors prepping and cleaning operatories between patients.
• Bring patients back to the operatories, take blood pressure and check health history.
• Maintain sterilization lab and instruments to the highest standard.
• Stock and clean as needed.
• Maintain lab case management system.
• Any additional support the team may need.
