Position Summary
UNM-Taos' Social and Behavioral Science Department invites applicants living in New Mexico to apply for Temporary Part time Faculty positions (Adjunct) to teach lower division courses in Economics for the Social and Behavioral Sciences department.
Preferred format for teaching is face to face instruction. This position will be hired on an as needed basis dependent on student enrollment, course offering matrix, and graduation requirements.Potential courses include lower division courses listed below:
ECON 2110 - Macroeconomic Principles
Macroeconomics is the study of national and global economies. Topics include output, unemployment and inflation; and how they are affected by financial systems, fiscal and monetary policies. Prerequisite for most upper-division courses. Meets New Mexico General Education Curriculum Area 4: Social and Behavioral Sciences.

ECON 2120 - Microeconomic Principles
This course will provide a broad overview of microeconomics. Microeconomics is the study of issues specific to households, firms, or industries with an emphasis on the role of markets. Topics discussed will include household and firm behavior, demand and supply, government intervention, market structures, and the efficient allocation of resources.Prerequisite for most upper division courses. Meets New Mexico General Education Curriculum Area 4: Social and Behavioral Sciences.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: - Master's degree in the discipline or subfield in which they are applying to teach.Applicant must have completed a program of study in the discipline or subfield in which they teach, with coursework at least one level above that of the courses being taught or developed (e.g., completed a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline or subfield in which they teach or tested experience that is determined to be equivalent to the degree).
Preferred Qualifications: - Teaching experience in a post-secondary institution, particularly community college experience.
- Successful experience in practice or field work (if applicable).
- Experience utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS) to support face-to-face instruction.
•A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
