Responsibilities:
Consulting with healthcare providers to understand their billing needs and offering tailored solutions.
Handling all aspects of medical billing, including coding, charge entry, claim submission, payment posting, and follow-up.
Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and other privacy laws.
Reviewing and appealing unpaid and denied claims.
Verifying patients' insurance coverage and explaining benefits and costs.
Providing excellent customer service to patients, answering their billing questions, and resolving any issues.
Training and mentoring other team members on medical billing procedures.
Continually updating and improving billing procedures to increase efficiency and profitability.
Collaborating with other finance team members to prepare forecasts and financial reports.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years experience in medical billing, preferably in a consulting role.
Advanced knowledge of medical billing procedures and regulations.
Proficiency in medical billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional customer service skills, with a proven ability to resolve issues and maintain strong client relationships.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Demonstrated ability to train and mentor others.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Certification as a Medical Billing Specialist from an accredited institution is a plus.
