Job Summary

Investigate, analyze, and determine the extent of insurance company's liability concerning personal, casualty, or property loss or damages, and negotiate settlement with claimants and/or attorneys. Correspond with or interview medical specialists, agents, witnesses, or claimants to compile information. Calculate benefit payments and approve payment of claims within a certain monetary limit.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Investigate multi lines liability commercial and residential claims. Claims consist of but are not limited to premise, auto, and professional liability
• Analyze complex information from different sources
• Prepare and process claim reports
• Consult with specialists
• Assign defense counsel and manage litigation
• Calculate benefits and payments.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants and/or attorneys
• Confirm Medicare liens as needed
• Make authority and settlement recommendations.
• Manage litigates files

Qualifications and Skills

• 5+ years' experience in Liability Casualty Claims Handling required
• State Licensing required
• Litigation experience required
• Strong Investigative and analytical skills
• Ability to communicate effectively and timely to claims and client needs
• Experience in Microsoft Suites
• Competent written and oral business communication skills
• Teamwork and respect for others, as well as ethical behavior and professional conduct, and a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
