Salary: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour

Organization Description: Restore Incorporated is a nonprofit faith-based agency with over 10 years of experience providing community-based support services for people with substance use disorders and behavioral health. We provide residential inpatient treatment for ASAM level 3.3 and 3.1 addiction comprehensive treatment Services, as well as Intensive Outpatient services for ASAM level 2.1. Restorative Solution is the management company for Restore Inc. Restore Incorporated services are designed to enable and support adolescent and adults with Behavioral health rehabilitation, needs in accordance with their ability and desire. Our mission is to assist individuals with the courage to change their lives.

SUMMARY
This position functions as a part of the clinical team in a culturally sensitive consumer residential treatment facility in the provision of rehabilitation services to consumers who are experiencing emotional and behavioral complications and addictive disorders. Retrieves, prepares, scans and indexes patient documentation into the electronic medical record and records documents in physical files. Performs analysis and quality control of medical records and scanned documentation. Ensures accurate and timely completion of medical record documentation by assisting other staff with the record completion process to make available to authorized users timely, accurate, and complete patient health information. Navigates various computer applications to perform job duties and to support patient care. Analyzes the content of the medical records for missing documentation and signatures according to state and federal regulations and all organizational policies. Assigns, edits, and tracks medical record deficiencies by responsible provider into chart management system accurately and timely following established policies and procedures. Serves as a liaison to providers regarding issues related to incomplete records and documentation to ensure adherence to regulatory and chart completion policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides guidance, crisis intervention, motivational counseling and ensures program policy and procedure is followed
  • Completes documentation in accordance with established standards, and incident reports and other data in an accurate and timely manner
  • Assist with new consumer orientation to the treatment program
  • Receives incoming calls, takes and delivers accurate messages while maintaining consumer confidentiality during shifts with no clerical coverage
  • Facilitates non-clinical activities to include educational, cultural, recreational and social activities
  • May conduct crisis counseling, motivational counseling and instructional groups within their knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Collects urinalysis specimens as assigned as needed.
  • Remains on premises during an 8-hour shift to provide coverage.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining control of records and related files.
  • Attends staff meetings, training and in-service meetings
  • Maintains CPR/First Aid and CARF training on a yearly basis
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
  • Documents all service contacts within 24 hours of contact including face-to-face, collateral and networking contacts. Demonstrate appropriate & complete documentation of treatment – related information including treatment plans and reviews, progress notes, correspondence, releases of information, etc.… in compliance with agency standards and state regulations.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The work is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items weighing less than 25 lbs. The majority of work is performed in an office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities. The office is a non-smoking facility with outside smoking areas. Requires local travel between various program components of RESTORE INC which may involve exposure to extreme weather conditions. Works in an environment where protection of consumer confidentiality is essential. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided where/when needed.

This position will (or may) require you to frequently (or incidentally) drive your personal vehicle for Restore Inc business. In order to drive your personal vehicle for Restore Inc., business an individual must provide a copy of their current Alaska Driver’s License and a copy of their proof of personal liability insurance. No employee may transport a Restore Inc. consumer in a personal vehicle.

Continued employment status will be contingent upon satisfactory completion of a criminal background investigation and the pre-employment drug testing process. Where required, continued employment status (post job offer) will be contingent upon employee providing certification of annual tuberculosis (TB) screening and medical certification that employee does not, because of infectious or communicable disease, pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of program participants or others in the workplace.

Experience, Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:

  • Considerable knowledge of substance use disorders and DSM 5 disorders of adulthood. Knowledge of utilizing assessments in treatment planning for case management. Knowledge of community referring agencies and collaborative intervention strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective service plans and strategies to meet identified needs; to work effectively with community resources in coordinating services for clients; to work closely and effectively with clients, and other professionals; to gather and document necessary client information, write reports and maintain client records; to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, and to maintain confidentiality according to all relevant regulations and agency requirements.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment including email and internet navigation required. Experience with Human Service Information Systems strongly preferred. Experience with web-based time and attendance and staff training and development system strongly preferred.

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree earned from an accredited college or university in relevant human services and at least one years’ experience working with clients with substance use disorders and mental illness to meet the status of Qualified Addiction Professional (QAP) according to BH requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain, Certifications as required: Certified Addictions Professional (CT, CDC1, CDC II within three years of hire

 

Special Requirements:
Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance, as required by Restore Inc and, other licensing regulations, and practices.

  • This position requires frequent driving. A valid Alaska driver license, reliable personal vehicle, current personal auto insurance as required by law.
  • A personal cell phone with reliable service and, if applicable, a data plan to use for business purposes.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
